Getting to know new people is always an exciting, yet awkward task. The semesters always seem to start off the same, "Okay now were going to go around the room and everyone say your name, where you’re from and your major." But this time Professor Smith took it an extra step and told us to create groups to further get to know your classmates. My group, Team Smith, consists of five members; Will, Matt, Zishawn, Victoria and myself.
Will is from Raleigh, NC and we share a major of business administration. He is a competitive snowboarder and has competed in multiple different countries against world cup athletes. His love for travel stems from his experiences of competing worldwide. Another hobby of his is photography and filmmaking. He has moved quite a few times; he has lived in Delaware, Maine, Ohio and here in North Carolina.
Matt lives in Chester Spring, PA and is pursuing a major in communications. Baseball has been a part of his life since middle school and he has traveled all over to participate in different tournaments. He has a beach house in South Carolina where he spends his summers. His summer days are filled with mostly playing golf. He plans to live in the south once he is on his own.
Zishawn is by far the most interesting team member (no offense to anyone else). Z is from Miami and is majoring in International Business with a focus in Spanish. The fact that he fluently speaks four languages, English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, and is learning Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, is going to be very helpful with his major. Z is a professional cricket player, that is how is intends to pay for college. In his free time he loves to travel, shocker, and studied with kids from 37 different countries which is what sparked his interest in learning different languages in the first place.
Finally, the last member of my team is Victoria. She is from Charlotte, NC and plans to major in neuroscience. With that degree she plans to become a neurosurgeon and save lives. She has over 200 pairs of sneakers, a "sneakerhead" at its finest. In her free time, she plays on the club basketball team and plays the guitar and clarinet. She is currently learning how to play the piano.
I am excited to get to know them more throughout the semester!
