Trump's Ban on Immigration

This past weekend, President Donald Trump created an executive order which banned 218+ people from the U.S. and denied entry to refugees from the following countries: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia. These countries were labeled "countries of concern" under the Obama administration. This ban is being labeled as a "Muslim Ban" by many, but the President is ensuring the people that this new policy is not a Muslim Ban". He says this list is one of countries who have been previously prone to terrorism. The funny part is, the list leaves off the heavy Muslim populated countries that have also been prone to terrorism, where he has business affairs. The admittance of refugees from these areas has been put on halt. President Miliband of the International Rescue Committee says that, "In truth, refugees are fleeing terror - they are not terrorists." "And at a time when there are more refugees than ever, America must remain true to its core values. America must remain a beacon of hope." We as a nation were built on the founding of providing freedom to those oppressed, how quickly we forget where we come from. What if this nation was never open to immigrants or refugees since the beginning of our history? Where would you be sitting right now? Would you be able to read this? Would you have a computer or a roof over your head? Who knows, but are you willing to deny that from others?
